Voluntary Food Recall: Harlan Bakeries - Edmonton

04/25/2017 - Harlan Bakeries - Edmonton, Alberta, Canada facility announced a voluntary food recall on various brands of pie and tart shells due to possible E. coli 0121 contamination.  Consumers should not consume the recalled products described in the food recall.  The products were manufactured and sold to Canadian Customers only.

The voluntary food recall was due to a contaminated raw material (flour) Harlan Bakeries - Edmonton facility utilized to produce unbaked pie and tart shells.  It became known to Harlan after CFIA's investigation into consumer complaint(s) related to contaminated lots of Flour from Ardent Mills.  For further details of CFIA's ongoing investigation into this food safety issue can be located at CFIA's website Public Health Notice – Outbreak of E. coli infections linked to various flours and flour products.
