Harlan Bakeries, Inc. (Harlan) Wins Twelve First Place Blue Ribbons in the 2006 American Pie Council (APC)/Crisco National Pie Championships.

AVON, INDIANA –Harlan Bakeries, Inc. won twelve First Place Blue Ribbons in the 2006 American Pie Council / Crisco National Pie Championships, doubling the amount of first place blue ribbons won in 2005. The competition was hel in conjunction with the Great American Pie Festival on April 21st in Celebration, Florida.

Since 2001, the number of entries in the Crisco National Pie Championships has grown tremendously. This year the Today Show and the Food Network were present to capture the events on national television. Four hundred fifty pies were entered in this year's Commercial Division, up from three hundred last year. Harlan entered pies in forty-two categories for judging and received the third largest number of first place ribbons.

Blue Ribbons were awarded to Harlan as follows:

In addition to the Pie Championship, Harlan offered samples of our Coconut Creme and Lemon Merinuge pies for tasting in the Great American Pie Festival's Never Ending Pie Buffet on April 22nd and 23rd.
