The American Institute
of Baking awards a “SUPERIOR” Rating to
Harlan Bakeries, Inc. (HBI) for the seventh consecutive
year.
Avon, Indiana -HBI
just spent two days, October 18th and 19th having a
complete Food Safety Audit performed by the American
Institute of Baking (AIB). At the conclusion of the
second day the auditor awarded a rating of “Superior”.
HBI is proud to be receiving this “Superior”
Rating for the seventh consecutive year.
The American Institute of Baking performs an annual
audit and is based on their published AIB Consolidated
Standards for Food Safety. The Standards for Food Safety
are published for food processors’ usage, to evaluate
the food safety risks and compliance levels to the criteria
in the Standards. The Standards contain the criteria
and rating methods used to assign numerical scores to
the facility. The criteria is a combination of good
management principles; The Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic
Act; Good Manufacturing Practices; U.S. Military Sanitary
Standards; and the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and
Rodenticide Act. The facility being inspected is given
a total score and a rating based on that score.
